First prize goes to Jamie Garber for the following essay:

Marriage to me means belonging to my best friend for the rest of my life. We will become one and live as a whole for the first time when we are married.

We will go through good times and bad times together but we will have each other to share the laughs and tears with. We will get mad at each other as everyone has their fights but at the same time our love for each other will pull us back together and keep us strong.

We will be able to wake up to each other every morning and kiss each other good night before bed. We will know that even during the down times we have each other there to hold us and conquer our fears with the love we have for each other.

The day that I marry my best friend will be the day that all the memories start. I really want to keep these memories to show our children as they grow up and they can share with their kids as well on how our own family got started.

My parents did not have their wedding tape and I really wish I could look back upon their wedding day and see the memories from when our family truly started.

I really want to share this with my kids so they can have memories we can share with them unlike my parents. I would love to have something to remember and watch on our anniversary along with other times throughout the year to remember the day that my life finally became full.
